I've heard people bantering about ways to get big external HDD's working on the PS3 via USB2.0 without having to use partition magic. Has anyone tried this or seen any links to more concrete results?

Yes, here is a link to my Gallary. Check out my 460GB PS3. I have a 400GB Western Digital Mybook USB drive connected. Set up a Picture, Music and Video directory then connect it as is to the PS3. I left mine at FAT32. It came that way out of the box. The second shot shows mine downloading from the Playstation store right to my external drive. Works like a champ right out of the box. I can even play all my MP3s and Mpeg4 video off the drive through the PS3 and into my surround system. You can view jpeg and more....

Good luck.
