That's a surprise, the Ohio State and Kentucky Women's basketball game is in HD.
I hope the UConn and Tennessee game is also.

Wow, RebKell of RebKell's Junkie Boards is on the AVS Forum!

Is this the first time CBS has broadcast women's hoops in HD? I know ESPN has of course. It was surprising to see the the WNBA All-Star game in HD last year but that was probably because it was at MSG.

That's me, I have no idea about previous women's games in HD, I've only been HD capable since Sep/Oct of this year.

The picture looks pretty good, I've not noticed any problems with the Comcast feed.

Game 3 is up.

Just like every year, the UConn vs. Tenn game was totally incredible. I hope I never have to see another in SD again.

Where are all the CBS complainers today? Only watched the Tenn @ UConn game, looked good on WCBS via Cablevision.

I was getting all excited, but then realized the SOLE reason for this is that there is only one NFL game on CBS this weekend. This also should mean that the two regional games on tomorrow will be SD.

Will be interesting to see what happens next weekend with the 4 CBS HD units:
-2 will be at the NFL division games
-1 will probably be at the Illinois/MSU game Sunday since it's national.
-Does the other unit go to one of the regional games? Or do neither get broadcast in HD?

Sure hope Villanova @ 'Cuse gets the 4th HD unit, but with OSU carrying a top 10 ranking, I would guess it goes to Ohio.

You seem to be confused. CBS does not have or own any HD mobile units; they lease & rent whatever they require.

Right, they rent the mobile units, but why is it they only seem to produce 4 HD events per weekend? Is it because of limitations in their central studios?

Interestingly enough, today's game of MSU @ Indiana is listed as HD on titantv, which makes it the 5th HD event this weekend.

Correct the limitation is the number of games they can handle at once because of master control limitations. Currently they are limited to 3 events at the same time.

Which means on a typical weekend, based on 3 daytime HD events, they could do at least 8 HD events, if they wanted.

Maybe because the complaints are about doing only 3 NFL games per week. What does this have to do with the NFL games? You think we should be happy because CBS did what ESPN does on a regular basis (college sports in HD)? Whoopee!

If they wanted.

Heck, they could have done 3 HD games at 1pm ET, started any games at 4 in SD then switched as the feeds became available.

If they wanted.

That is what ticked a lot of us off. It wasn't a matter of physics; it was a matter of choice by CBS.

That would not be a realistic solution because of the amount of time it would take to setup up each game in master control.

I whole heartedly agree. This game represents the best of the Women's game every year, and it deserves only the best.
