EH-50 Has anyone really succeeded...

...in disabling the TVGOS permanently in this unit??? I am sick of the missed scheduled programs issues with this device! The TVGOS is simply unable to wakeup the unit at the scheduled time. Leaving the unit on to allow it to operate is unacceptable. I am ready to do away with the convenience of the EPG in search of reliability. So far I have been unable to rid the DMREH-50 of TVGOS.

I've had the EH50 for about 3 months. I've never used the TVGOS, only manual record because I use my Tivo's to do the tuning. I disabled the TVGOS from my initial setup and have never had a problem or missed a recording. I went from the 80 to the 50 and have been pretty happy with the unit. I only have 2 small issues. One is the menu structure with no direct way to get to playlists. The second is not being able to name manually recorded titles until after they've been recorded. Take care and good luck.
