XM and Sirius are two different companies and have two different policies regarding prepaying for service, nothing wrong with that. When you signed up for service, you agreed to that.
I used to be a hardcore Sirius basher, but decided to put my money were my mouth was, I signed up on a semi annual plan, I knew well of the $75 cancellation fee and I expected to hate Sirius, and cancel after few months. Almost two and a half years later I now have 2 Sirius subscriptions, in addition to my 2 XM subscriptions. And if you pay monthly there is no cancelation fee.
Wait, this kinda confuses me a little bit.
I currently have, and will continue to have, a pre-paid 1-year signup for Sirius.
Let's say I cancel(or decided not to RE-UP for the 1 year pre-paid), I will charged $75 for Fu$%ing leaving!?
If I called the customer service in June(my pre-paid 1 year begins every July 1 and runs for a year) and told them I decided not to re-up, and explained to them that I no longer wanted the service, I am going to get hit with a $75 charge?
That makes no sense. You mean I am signed into this company for PERPITUITY?
Until the end of time?
Boy, that is a STUPID FUC#$ng business model.
That makes no sense.
I know some people felt that if you transfered to a newer receiver they would charge you a $75 fee, but that was not the case.
At least with the e-mail I got sent in August of '05, but then again, that could have changed.
But if that is the fact with a pre-paid 6 month/1 year/2 years/3 years, then maybe I should change it too a month to month basis beginning in July.
But is that utter F'ing trash, if that is the case.
