Scotch,Cigar's and Football.. - Page 2

Oh somebody get me some more Scotch PLEZZZE. I think I am going to be looking for the pistol if the Patriots win too. My friend called to say,"now you know how Dallas feels." Hey the Bears did the deal. More power to them.

Bulldogger, if it goes with the Bears and Patriots, it will be a boring Superbowl.
Good day anyway for drinking and cigars, feed animals, send wife and kids out, relax and enjoy!

It is truly a beautiful evening. My wife's family is over and it is raining. Days like this make a home theater the best place to be. I think I will fire up one of those Cohibas.

Bulldogger, WHEW!!! Good game. I was seriously worried around the middle of the 3rd Quarter. That safety was a huge turning point in the game.

One thing they are saying all over the radio here was that some of the Bears defensive players were upset with Reggie Bush's hotdogging on the way into the end-zone, and they cranked it up a notch after that. Now, I've never bought into these "motivation" things since I think the guys should be going 110% all of the time, but wow. That was the Bear defense from around mid-October.

I'm glad Indianapolis made it, as I think the Bears match up better against them than the Pats.

In any event...congratulations on a great season by the Saints. It's quite amazing when you think how quickly they turned it around from a year ago. Sean's a great coach. They added a top QB in Brees, added Bush in the draft (how idiotic is the Texans' mgmt?), got a diamond in the rough in the draft in Colston, got a healthy Deuce back from ACL (who should be even better next year as it usually takes ~ 2yrs to get 100%). Wow. I really think they got the pieces in place to be a good team for another 4-5 years and should certainly be one of the top teams in the NFC again next year.

Two great games. What an awesome day for football fans everywhere.

Yes, I am happy with the match-up. Should be a great game. We have a lot of rookies. Taunting the defense was a rookie move. I am sure Sean chewed him out about that. I like the Bears and the Colts. Looking forward to the game! To expect to go from 3 and 13 to the Superbowl was a bit much. My wife kicked me out of the bed for saying that.Boy are they some die-hard Saints fans. My mother-in-law and my wife's aunt have had season tickets on the 50 yard line, row 3 off the field for about 15 years. If you want to watch anything on TV at my house besides the playoff, you better forget it. My wife is not having it. She stays glued to the screen for all the playoff games. It's hard living with her right now.

Hi

Yesterday was football at its best: 2 great games.. I was pulling for the Saints, knowing for well they would not beat the Bears, would have been a great day for New Orleans...
I like the Colts vs Bears matchup... Could be one of the best Superbowl ever... Colts may win it.. The look good and have the tools to derail the Bears defense...

To me, the superbowl is going to come down to one thing, and that is can the Colts defense stop the Bears running attack. The Bears have mastered the use of their two pronged running attack with Jones and Benson. We have just about run on everybody since our bye-week. If the Bears control the clock and run on the Colts, then Manning and all of his weapons won't be on the field much, and the Bears defense is built to play from ahead.

I do agree that this looks to be a great matchup on paper. I cannot wait. Been 21 years since a Superbow...

If you want a real treat, a limited edition scotch, Alloway Legend is to my taste the smoothest I've had. I don't know if you can find it in the US, a Scottish friend gifted us a few bottles.

is proud to present this 12 Year Old

the genius of Scotland's national bard,

For TV's Trixie, the Honeymoon Lives On

It is 5:01 p.m. and Joyce Randolph, a k a Trixie Norton, is holding forth in the downstairs bar at Sardi's, sipping her favorite formulation of the White Cadillac, Dewar's and milk.

I think it does your stomach good, she is saying. The Scotch. The milk.

Interestingly enough, the best Scotch I ever had was Macallan Gran Reserva, I bought two bottles and now have nothing but empty wooden boxes and glass bottles. That was a soldiers paycheck at the time, I've become more frugal since, and just stick to the Glens
