Help with new Philips 37PF9631D/37

I just got the Philips 37PF9631D/37 LCD recently and have been very happy with it. However, recently I have been playing around with the video settings and can not not seem to tweak it to the point where it looks just right.

Would anyone else with this set care to share their settings that they have found to look the best?

Thanks a lot. i will try your settings for awhile. I have been using CNet's settings but I had to adjust the contrast. Even then it seemed off.

Hello -
I recently bought the same Philips as you. Its the 37PF9631D/37 37" Ambilight. I'm wondering if you can maybe help me out a bit with the settings. I'm using a Toshiba HD DVD unit (HD-A1) and I'm not happy with the picture quality. For one thing, it does not look that good with 480p, 720p, or 1080i resolution from the dvd player being fed into the TV via a high quality monoprice HDMI cable. In fact, whether I set the player to 480p, 720p, or 1080i, I really do not notice any difference in the picture. If I stand 2 feet from the tv, I can see severe pixels on the screen (mainly where the solid colors appear in a movie). Now I realize this is not a 1080p tv but the pixels shouldn't be that evident, should they? Even at about 10 feet away, I can see the pixels present when looking straight on at the screen. I tried alot of settings for just cannot get the pixels to disappear. I tried my HD-XA1 from the theater in the basement and have the same effect with that one, so I can rule out the players, its gotta be something with the tv. I don't see any pixels even close up from my 50" Panny Plasma in the theater either and that's a 720p set (actually 768P like the Philips). Thanx for any help!
Dave
