I don't think anyone will dispute that DB is superior on paper. The problem is the way it is being implemented. There are several key features that are still absent (advanced audio codec support, BD-J, BD Live, PIP, etc...) that the BDA need to address before they can declare themselves the winners.
So until then I don't think we can call it the superior format. It's a little premature.
