DVDWARS: The Tide Has Turned!

Turns out the PS3 was the Trojan Horse Sony was hoping for after all. They were just all under the tree.

BD has caught HD DVD # in top 1000, and has surpassed it for number that can be bought.

The real eye-opener is the sales ranks. Most of the top 10 are only a couple of points behind the HD DVD in the same position.

5,6,7 and 10 are all ranked higher on the BD side!

It was nice while it lasted, but they're shutting off the HD DVD lights and the janitor is sweeping up.

"You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here".

Goodbye, HD DVD. We had some laughs, but we'll always have my parents basement.

Wow, Fett. Fickle much?

This site didn't mean anything back when HD DVD was in the lead (which it STILL is, by the way). And it still doesn't mean anything now that BD has come close to catching up. And it certainly doesn't mean "goodbye" to HD DVD.

(You also seem to be ignoring the most complete chart "# in the top 10000")

I'm curious how you could go from being such a fan of a technology to completely bailing in a matter of weeks. No skin off my teeth, but it sure seems strange.

weird. I hope hd-dvd sticks around because I want universal to release more titles instead of dragging their heals on blu-ray and just re-releasing what they did on hd-dvd. Plus hd-dvd has made blu-ray better. Hopefully bd will continue to improve as hd-dvd will not simply die off as fett suggests.

There is already a sales thread going. No need to start any new ones.
