Emotiva "Big Dogs" & Gallo Speakers

Thread Starter
I am new to this forum, so please be kind...

I am building an AV system, and will 1st buy the speakers.

Anthony Gallo Ref 3.1's for the front & Gallo Ref AV's for the center and rear speakers in a 5.1 configuration.

My room is 14ft X 20ft with 20 ft Vaulted ceilings. The room coninues another 20 ft longer into the Kitchen, with 8 ft ceilings.

I am seriuously considering the Emotiva DMC-1 & MPS-1 (AKA "Big Dogs") to amplify the Gallo Speakers discussed herein, due to the incredible price point of $3,000 for both the pre/pro (DMC-1) & 7 channel Amp (MPS-1).

Many people in these forums have discussed the merrits of Outlaw, Arcam, as well as others as an Amplifier solution. My HiFi speaker sales guy thinks I will be happier with the sound from the B&K AVR 507.

I have heard NAD, Rotel, & Anthem, and they all sound good... with the exception that I haven't heard them with the Gallo Speakers. I have also read very good reviews aboout the NAD M-Class (M15 & M25)

The NAD M-Class is about twice the price of the Emotivas, and the Anthem D1 or D2, with 7 ch Amp is about 3 times the price.

does anyone have experience with the Emotiva "Big Dogs" with the Gallo Speakers?

Any feedback is appreicated!

Better luck next year Redskins!

Wow - No One Responded To This Post Huh?
Well I'm new to the forums but I have this entire set-up you spoke of in 2007. Does it matter at this point?
Let me know and I can share what I know.
