Hi all !

Today, I have opportunity to buy a JVC DLA HX2E with 200 hours of using with an ISCO II.

I know that JVC is a very good video projecteur builder and I will like to know your opinion about this deal.

Thank you.

What is the deal that you are getting? Everyone here is excited about the new JVC projector, the RS1 or perhaps known as the HD1. It is likley the reason that you are being offered a deal on the HX2.

Thank you for you reply.

I don't speak english very well and I have some difficulties to understand you.

In fact, I would like to know if this projector (HX2) can be a good compromise between 720p (sanyo Z5 for instance) and 1080p (HD1 or pearl or ruby for instance).

JVC HD1 seems to be an amazing VP but I do not have enough money to buy it (or pearl or ruby). It is why I search a second-hand equipment.

The JVC is an older model, right?

Unless you are very sensitive to SDE (screen door effect) and don't care much about CR (contrast ratio), I think for the price you first mentioned you would get a better picture for less money with one one of the new 1080P LCD projector's, or for even less money, a more recent 720P projector, either LCD or DLP.

Yes it is an older model (2005).

I'm very sensitive to SDE consequently LCD or DILA or SxRD are the best choice for me.

Alex, I ownded the HX2U. It is a very good projector, it just lacks the higher contrast offered by newer models. If it is being offered at an attractive price relative to what you pay for a used Pearl, it should be a good buy. Other option is to pick up a Panasonic AE900 with it's smooth screen technology - mitigating "scren door" effect. They can be bought used for less than a $1000.

Hi Thunder.

Thank you.

In fact, price is 2400 euros for VP and 1500 euros for ISCO II lens (for 2.35 projection). I think it is really an attractive price. Moreover, I own a vantage HD scaler which is able to output 1400x788p at 50 or 60 Hz in 2.35 format on HDMI and VGA link.

In fact, deal is already made. This week-end I will own JCV HX2E+ISCO II+2.35 screen+scaler vantage HD.

I own the HX1U which is a year earlier than HX2 and am very happy with it. I too own the Vantage and the combination on 110 inch screen is very good. You won't be disappointed.

Well, if this forum isn't completely dead ...

I've accessed the hidden menu on my DLA HX2U, but can't figure out how to make adjustments. The sliders for color/contrast adjustments don't respond to the controls. Is there something special you have to do in order to make adjustments?

Thanks,
Brian L.

Only certain parameters in the HX2 service menu can be adjusted. What are you trying to do?

The menu has sliders for color/contrast adjustments, but they don't respond to controls. Are these for viewing only? If so, what purpose do they serve?
Thanks for your help!
