Curious if it's considered an upgrade from NEC HT1000 to Optoma HD70

As you can see from my join date/posts I've been sort of "out of the loop" and just enjoying my HT1000 from Guitarman's original recommendation several years ago.

My question:

I know the specs are better, but is upgrading to an Optoma HD70 over my NEC HT1000 going to be a huge improvement? I'm talking pure image quality and enjoyment factor.
