Hello!!
This is a great forum especially for people like me who are totally new to Home theater systems and set up. Again, I am a newbie so no flames please.
Recently I got Samsung 56" 1080p DLP TV. The sound coming from the TV is very low. So, I bought a average 5.1 Sony Home theater system (DDW-900).
My question is: For some reason, I cannot use rear speakers. I can use the front speakers (including center speaker) and Subwoofer. Can I do that??? I understand the rear speakers in 5.1 throw surround sound that I don't care for. Wondering if not using rear speakers would distort the sound coming from front speakers? Isn't it 3.1 (mimicking).
FYI: Sony upconverter DVD and Dish Network HD receiver will be connected to Samsung.
I would really appreciate your help. If this does not work I might return this and get Philips HTS6500 2.1 system. But I really want to make this (Sony HTS) work..
Thank You,
-Sam
