. The funny thing is that for years people have been posting stuff like "it doesn't make sense, why does a rear projection set cost more than a front projection set". Well the answer now for the first time is "it doesn't". Other than the light control issue and the convenience of one box (which are admittedly huge factors in most purchases), economically it no longer makes sense to spend 2K+ (or 4K or 6K etc.) on a big rear projection box when you can get a 6' wide 1280 x 720 pic on your wall for $900! And when you start looking at $1000 RP sets they are absolutely horrible in comparison to this Mitsubishi. So for rooms like bedrooms where you mainly watch at night FP is now a bargain IMO.
p.s. Not meaning to turn this into a debate with RP owners - of course I can see plenty of reasons why a person would go the RP route. Just pointing out how incredibly feasible/practical it has become to consider FP now, even for multiple rooms.
