took everyones suggestions about replacing the hvpsu caps in the hope it would bring it back to life.
operation was a success but the patient is still struggling to come to life.
while the back was still off i had the customer power it on and saw the hv block arcing between the input and output leads.
the last time and only time i saw a hv block arcing like that was when i was repairing a barco 600-s crt pj.
the problem with that was the blue tube was shorted so the hv had to try and go somewhere.
replaced the blue tube and everything was fine.
i dont even want to think that the tube on the aconda might be dead so does anyone have any other ideas for troubleshooting besides replacing the hv block ?
thanks.
