thanks for your reply. i ran my last PE SA 240 WATT amp with speaker level input and had much better output from the Dayton 15" DVC sub. the problem is, the sub amp only lasted a little over a month before the left channel input went almost totally dead causing a noticeable reduction in output. i was told on another forum that the plate amp inputs are capacitively coupled, and may have cauesd my power amp which was driving the plate amp to oscillate which caused the input of plate amp to burn out. anyone else ever have any thing similar happen to one of their plate amps? i would rather, run this sub at speaker level inputs but, don't want to maybe blow it up very fast also. by the way, i never drive it hard usually just cruising. my power amp never, gets hot on heat sink, output transistors, etc. did i just get a lemon? or should i stay with the line level inputs feeding from my Adcom Preamp on my new, replacement amp (same model)? plate amp fins were barely warm before input circuit blew. Thanks for any advice!
