Or, at least, recommended settings (e.g. Picture Mode, contrast, brightness, color temp, sharpness, ClearEdge, etc.)?
You will be told this a thousand times here - which I don't always agree with as I feel there ARE settings that will get one in the same ballpark as the game is - if you catch my drift.
That said, I'll go through some settings that I derived from using Digital Video Essentials on my 24" dinosaur WEGA:
Color Temp: Warm
SVM(scan velocity): OFF!
Picture mode: Standard or Movie
Now onto the controls:
Picture - slightly below center - (if this XBR has numbered settings, 45-50 should be close.
Brightness - slightly above center, or, 55-60
Color - waayy below center - 35-40 on a scale of 0-100
Tint - Use your judgment - mine ended up 2 clicks toward red on an already reddish picture
Sharpness - barely above minimum, or 10 -20 out of 100
Let us know how these work - have an open mind - don't always listen to "settings are display specific". Anything is better than leaving it on factory Vivid!
And no one would recommend settings that could harm your set. That's a fine XBR, take care of it!
