Help picking out a Receiver

Hello guys, I'm new to the boards and would greatly appriciate your expertise.
Currectly we are building a new house and am trying to peice together a HT system for the family room that is about 20 x 20, 2 stories. So the room itself also has a high ceiling with the kitchen.

The setup so far is with the Klipsch Quintet III 5.1 matched with the Klipsch 10 in. sub. viewed on a Pioneer 60 in. Elite. (1080i)

The receivers are the Sony STRDA7100ES/B and the Denon AVR2807. I can get these for a very good price which is only 150 dollars apart. So if money was not an issue, which one of the 2 would you go with and why? Also, could someone inform me why the 1000 dollar difference in the retail price?


In another room, I will be using the same speakers with a Sony 40in. XBR2 (1080p).
The room is 19x18. Standard ceiling.

The two receivers I have decided are the Sony STRDG1000 versus the STRDA3200ES.

I have decided on these two because of where I work at, I can get from 40-60 percent off. So again, price isn't the issue, so please receiver gurus...

Help me with my decision.

I did do a search and have read reviews before posting on this board.
I'm new to home audio and would like the honest opinion from this board because
you guys just know and deal with these things daily. I simply wouldn't have asked
if I could have gotten the answer already. And yes I did bump within 6 hours, but the board moves so fast that my thread was already on page 2.

Thanks Florida, so why the 1000 dollar difference then within the retail price between the 7200 and the 2807?

BTW I'm getting the Denon for 600 and the Sony for 750 brand new. So it's not a big difference in price, but I would still like to know what makes it such a big deal.

I'm sorry if it is a really newbie question, both if i'm looking at the specs, they are close and both has the HDMI output and input. Which is what I am looking for.
