DVI max Resolution

i need a little clarification,
can i get 1080 through a hdmi to a dvi connection for playstation?
and if i go this route what do i do for audio?
i realize this a newbie question but i just need a little help. Thanks in advance.

as of right now i am not running a receiver and was wondering if i can use the playstation cable w/ the rcas for audio?

i have to configure that through playstation?
