Be sure to read the fine print on the rebate form before you make your purchase........

Purchases made from unauthorized or non-participating dealers will be denied. Many large regional and national dealers may be excluded from this offer. For example, purchases made at Best Buy and Circuit City are excluded from this offer. Please contact these retailers for their special offers and availability on LG products.

Guess that's why in today's paper BB has the BH100 for $799 & CompUSA has it for $750. There is no mention of a gift card at BB. I would check with any retailer to see if they are a retailer that LG will accept the rebate from.

I would also like to know where the best price is. In summary this player is now playing audio and video without hickup in both formats? Seems like most of you are happy with the July 11 firmware.
I have an older meridian audio system so good coaxial audio support is all I need.
I have a Sharp xv-z10000 so 1080i or 720p should be enough video.
Thanks,
Sam

Found this on the bottom of the rebate form.
Please visit www.LGusa.com/promotions or call 1-866-383-8141 to find an eligible participating authorized dealer near you.
I don't see this promotion listed there yet so I bought it from the link provided above. I'll keep you all posted! Thanks for all the info.

Study the table in post 266 for audio formats. The digital output does not support all the new "HD" formats. Analog connections are the best way to go if the new audio formats are really important to you.

Yeah basically the player is fine. It's not perfect. The question you have to ask yourself at this point is if it is worth it to get one of these now or wait for the next generation. Playing the waiting game can be frustrating but it might make sense..........Of course if you wait for the new ones you will pay top dollar whereas it appears you can now get the BH100 for a reasonably good price.

Reading many of my posts from the last six months and anyone could tell I was a very big proponent of Blu-Ray. Well I just picked up my player yesterday and I'm VERY happy being neutral. The first movie I watched was Children of Men and I have to say it was first rate (the movie wasn't half bad either ).

For under $600 bucks I think this, NOT the PS3, is the bargain in high definition.

What's not valid? You can go right to the LG website and download the PDF from there:
http://us.lge.com/md/product/promotion.jsp
It's the 5th one down from the top.

No reason to apologize for poorly trained reps. I've gotten a bunch of PM's asking for the link so here it is:

$579 LG BH100 Player

It ends September 30.

has anyone has issues with the bh100 not playing hd dvds?
i ordered heroes season one on hd dvd and the first disk played
but the second one does not. the menu shows one track of 0:00 length.

i took the dvd to my local ultimate electronics and the same thing happened
with their bh100. i put the disk in a toshiba(?) hd dvd player and it worked
just fine.

again, has anyone seen this behavior with other hd dvds?
is this something lg will address?

thanks

Have you updated the firmware to the latest version?
I have played more HD-DVD's than BLU-RAY's in my BH100, it has always played flawlesly with both types of HD blu disk's.I have never tried SD DVD's in the player nor have I tried the HD-DVD you refer to.

So is there a way to get the LG $200.00 rebate AND the Sony free movie promo (5 free Blue Ray discs with purchase of a Blue Ray player)

Curious if anyone has worked this out, as both promo's require UPC codes off the box?

Also, which of the UPC codes is required for the LG rebate?

Thanks!

The LG rebate form says you only need to send them a copy of the UPC, and not the original.

I have the newest firmware but the player do not play "The Day After Tomorrow" and i think that it's maybe because this new title from Fox have BD+ , so friends i would like to advise you that you pay attetion when you buy a tittle with BD+ until LG put another firmware that make a solution for this problem. I do not know how inform LG Suport about this problem , so if someone can email them i thank.

(sorry for my bad english but i'm not north american)

Just curious, in a window-shopping way: apart from The Day After Tomorrow and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, are there any other discs the BH100 as a rule doesn't generally like?
What is the latest firmware version for the LG BH100 ? I guess another way to ask has ANYBODY successfully played back either "Day After Tomorrow" or "Fantastic Four Silver Surfer" on their BH100 ? I'm reaching for the moon hoping there are firmware versions out there which might support playback of the aforementioned discs.

I have not had any issues with any HD DVD or blu-ray disc I've stuck into the BH100. I have had audio dropout issues which current firmware fixes seem to have corrected. OTOH, I didn't procure any BD+-infested discs yesterday either.
I talked to LG customer service today and they are aware of the problem. New update is expected in 3-4 days and I was told to expect the disc in the mail in about 10 days.
