HR 10-250 TIVO Card on my resale?

A friend gave me a HR 10-250 he had replaced with the new MPEG4 Tivo from Direct TV. I'm going to put it up on eBay since these things still are selling for a decent penny. However, the unit doesn't have a card in it and my friend took off for overseas vacation and doesn't return for a month.

My question(s) is this:

1. Is it missing because he had to put it in the new MPEG4 Tivo?
2. Can someone buy this unit and purchase a card from Direct TV and if so, for how much?

$20 is the usual fee for a new card. A receiver that changes owners normally needs a new card anyway.

1. It's missing because the installer took it in order to deactivate the HR10-250.

2. As mentioned by Greywolf, a new access card is $20.
