Best $700 CRT HDTV?

Whats the best CRT HDTV i can get with $700?, im going to use it for my Xbox 360 and a PS3.

The only CRT I know of at that price are the Samsung SlimFits. Those have good PQ but are very prone to geometry problems. The Sony XBR970 is close to that at HHgregg, they have it for $800 and it is definately superior to the Samsung SlimFits. Really, these are about all that is out there. Hardly any CRTs are sold anymore.

$800? Really?! I looked on their website and it said $899 with in-store purchase only. Would love to get it for only $800. How much is delivery though? No way in hell I can carry that thing!

Ahhh damn, they raised the price again. Just a couple of days ago is was on sale for $800. I'm not sure but I think that Hhgregg guys get payed by commission so you might be able to talk a salesman down to $800 since they've sold it for that at various times. I think delivery is around $50.

The reason I say they may get payed by commission is because of the way one of thir floor guys behaved when I was looking at HDTVs there a few years ago. This guy was doing everything he could to sell me a TV. If I remember correctly he was offering lower than advertised prices to me and he had me apply for one of their credit cards. When I failed the credit check for it he seemed truly bummed out. I don't see why he would have acted like that unless their was something in it for him. When I go to Best Buy or Circuit City they don't seem to care if I buy one or not. But when salesman are on commission they are allowed to wheel and deal some. The lower they go the less money they make though.

I got one this weekend for $799 but instead of going to HH Gregg, I went to Best Buy and had them price match. I was able to get a longer service plan for less $$ there. This weekend was the 2nd time this month they have been around 800 at HH Gregg...

Some people have gotten the 970 for $750 after fighting with the salesman but I don't remember which store but I think it was Sears.
