I plan on a 12' by 22' by 7.5' theater in the basement. It will be a dedicated space with complete control of light Most of the dedicated spaces I have scene have dark walls and and a black ceiling. But I have seen a lot of theaters on this site with white ceilings white walls etc. I am wondering if going with a the darker pallet especially the black ceiling adds a lot to the pictures quality. If it matters, of all the projectors I am considering a Panasonic has the lowest lumens rating.at 1100.

Dark, non-reflective walls and ceiling make a world of difference in the perceived contrast level of the image. If you are going with a dedicated HT, as opposed to a multipurpose room, definitely consider using darker tones for you room.
