No form of digital input is an automatic disqualification, imho.

This TV is identical to Toshiba 26HF66 but with no HDMI input. Both the Sansui and Toshiba are made by Orion. If you don't need HDMI input, then it may be worth it, especially when you are getting Toshiba-like quality at a lower cost.

why would I need digital input?

It's not good to play PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 since it's 480i. It's good to play
Wii, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, DreamCast, Xbox, GameCube, etc. Get a good
HDTV if you want picture benefit out of HD gaming. I would suggest a HD CRT
from Samsung defaulting to your budget. 30" HDTV 16:9 is your best bet. If
you can go a full $800, get a Sony KD-34XBR970 or KD-34XBR960.

It's decent, and the max resolution you can get is 480p on component video.
