I'm sure this has been hashed and rehashed here, but WTF is up with Comcast's billing? My bill went up $6 from January to February for the same service.......Digital starter went from $55.29 to $58.30 and Digital Classic went from $7.95 to $10.95.....

Also, the only reason I have digital classic is so I get NESN HD and I think 1 or 2 other HDs like TNT and another one or two....Is that still the case? I primarily care about NESN HD. What a ripoff.

Its called the yearly price hike.
I thought the hike took affect already, my bill just escalated from $122 to $125 a couple of months ago, I thought. Just checked, my bill escalated in October. Now again in January?

I'm not sure, but could you have had one of those 12 month intro rates?

Not that it'll make you feel any better about it, but up until about 6 or 7 years ago NESN cost about $10 just by itself & you had to rent a box on top of that to get it. So just to get NESN cost almost $15 (and that was just analog!).

My one year rate is "Up" in May. I have the $159 deal. If I cannot get it renewed its back to Digital Proffered and Internet (but adding HBO when Entourage and Big Love return) or an equivalent tier on Fios

You don't need Digital Classic to get NESN HD.

You DO need it to get TNT HD, ESPN HD, MOJO, HD Theater, and a couple others.

What gives you any hope that the one year teaser rate will be renewable ?

According to the NY Times, Comcast and RFD-TV have signed a multi-year distribution agreement, and Boston is mentioned as one of the markets that could get the channel.

The focus of the article is that Imus' "new" radio show is carried on RFD-TV, but I'm looking forward to other programming on the channel. I used to love watching the Big Joe Polka Show when I had Dish.

I'm in Boston and I definetly just got SciFi HD. I wasn't expecting anything and was flipping through stations and noticed that SciFi now had an 8-- equivalent. I googled about SciFi in HD for Boston and got this thread). My DVR still doesn't have a show schedule yet... so it must just have happened. Hooray, final season of BSG in HD
post #2478 of 8457
I don't see HDNet or HDNet movies yet. If they do show up I will seriously reconsider staying with Comcast over FIOS. Not sure what I will do to be honest as they will both be pretty much on-par with what I desire.

SciFi HD (862) and Animal Planet HD (863) are live in Manchester, NH.

The HD Net comment above is just a joke.

I called Comcast CRS yesterday and told them I was sick of the price hikes and I was going to change to Direct TV, they gave me a promotion price which is $20 less per month for 1 year, so I am staying with Comcast.

I'm very glad that we got SciFi-HD in time for the the final BSG season...

Good job, Comcast!
Do I need to have any level of service besides basic to get digital preferred? I have expanded basic and digital preferred with a cable card, but in light of the HD channels available I rarely watch the expanded channels.

Please disregard the above question. Upon further research I found the answer.
Any word on TLC-HD or Science Chanel-HD?? I rarely watch Sci-Fi or Animal Planet so these additions aren't that big of a deal to me. Better than nothing tho.
862 and 863 live in Bristol County as of last night. Chitchat, when you scan on your QAM tuner are they located at 68-1, 68-2 and 68-3? (for CSN-HD too.)
So far I have seen nothing on Sci-Fi that is in HD. Everything is 4:3 SD material. Also on Animal planet the aspect ratio seems to be some type "zoom", NOT true HD material either.
If you look at the Comcast guide, you'll see that Stargate: Atlantis is in HD and it looks like some of their movies are shown in HD.

According to the guide, tonight's showing of The Bone Eater at 9PM will be in HD...
Yeah, Sci-Fi's made for TV movies are usually HD. I would have liked to have caught their Tin Man movie they ran a few weeks back- I'm sure they'll run it again.

Meerkat Manor and that Canadian guy who likes to bother dangerous animals were in HD, along with a show about tigers in a magic act.
