Hi Yannick,

Great to hear that new games are coming into play with Dbox!

Are the drivers already included within the games interface or do we have to get external programs as in Rfactor to run the motions? You should really have a server to facilitate downloading of these programs btw.

Also, I've been pining for a Rally game that runs Dbox....like Richard Burns or Colin Mcrae's driving games. Freemotionracing already supports Richard Burns I think....is there a forum for Dbox games I can send requests to just like this AVS forum?

Cheers!

You have some good points and we are creating a gaming center (similar to norton let's say) that will automatically download the new Motion Code for the games if needed. The reason why games are not being release as quickly is because we don't want to be external to them but part of it, just like need for speed undercover. For NFS the Motion Code is in the game so there is nothing to do, just play ...

We don't have a forum for the gaming (neither for the home theater)but... We will have our new website soon. Early Dec. you will get a facelift for the Home Theatre and the Gaming for CES early January and the forums should come soon after.

We do concentrate right now on newer games (upcoming) as we can access all of the data provided by the game and create a better experience. Since we can generate a lot more than most of other simulator it's very important to get the content provider to understand what we can provide. Although you are right, these two games have other simulator compatible, I will bring it up tomorrow, it could be an awesome experience indeed.

Do you have the gaming interface Yeek?

Great stuff! Good to hear all these good news Yannick. I have bought NFS undercover but haven't opened it yet....it is now priority No. 1 after work this evening I could have sworn I did not see the dbox logo or special mention on the NFS undercover box....

I have the games controller box, thinking of buying a Movie controller to use with movies too....

Cheers!

Oh yes Yannick, you may also want to chew on this (you can consider this as a request too ). It would be great if you can come up with an end-user friendly toolset for end-users to create motion codes for their home-made movies and a movie-player to play movie clips with the programmed motion on a PC.

Think of this:

Imagine I have a video of a spirited drive in my real life souped-up car or a video of a really cool roller coaster ride on my last holiday. I digitize the video into my PC, use the Dbox toolset to create the bumps and twists and then save it as a file playable on a special movie player that also runs the motion thru to my dbox setup. Wouldn't that be uber cool?

Imagine the amount of fun we will be having watching and riding on fellow dbox users' videos in a worldwide database, and the marketing exposure they will generate....

Cheers!

Hi Yannick,

I test run my Need for Speed Undercover....no support for Dbox! Is it because mine is a international version and not the US version??

This is a great idea and I'm sure there is a bunch of us out there that would spend a bit of time on it. This is more a long term project, that could be possible down the line, but it's not in the short term schedule.

Well the only mention of D-BOX is in the special thanks . Well just learned that due to time constraint the Motion Code is not on NFS but you can download it from http://www.d-box.com/2008/support/NF...otionSetup.zip

Hi Yannick,

Could you also put up the rest of the supported games drivers up there?

Cheers and thanks!

Hi Yeek,

PM me your email address and I will give you the link. The drivers for the other games will be available in the new website in a few weeks.
Watched INDY last night, and it was lots of fun. Glad I waited for the codes.
Phil did you watch Hulk already? Seems like it's a very good one... just a few days away if you haven't
post #1547 of 5811
No, I am holding on for the codes. Really looking forward to it.

I have a friend who works at Tweeter in the Chicago area, and they are selling off their D-Box inventory for 40% of MSRP. They have the Odyssey chairs there, I believe. Just in case anyone is interested.

Various Tweeters are liquidating... they all have the SRI-J 121 (formely Quest 2 Axis system) FYI

Yes, can you imagine us competing to make the best codes? That would be fun... Time consuming, but fun... Check out 'Fred's version of Speed racer or such and such....

Yannick, any word on Hellboy 2?

Also, curious what my options are for a theater with 9 motion seating locations. Would I need a third controller, or is there a way to get an extra seat out of two boxes?

My thoughts exactly

Something like using a joystick to generate the motions with a simple multi-layer/ tracks interface for each kind of effect to overlay all effects onto another perhaps?

Christmas 2008/2009 wish

Actually, the whole company is liquidating nationwide. I discounted the deal because the chair backs are too high for me, as I recalled. Further, I have a 3-axis system, so the 2-axis is a no go.

Hellboy 2 will be done for sure... not imediately. We have brought Kung Fu Panda as we got a lot of inquiries...

For a 9 seater we can have 2 options

1. 2 controllers with an MCI-2P
2. 1 controller and a Hub

The only downside on the hub is that you will not be able to adjust every seat individually (it will be seen as 1 unit) this one can control up to 12 seats
if this is not a big problem it will save you some $$$
post #1557 of 5811
OK, thanks. Will be a couple years before I get it all finished, so I will inquire again as the time gets closer, in case the hardware options have changed.

At some point I wish we can make that available, it would indeed be great to exchange our own creative view of the movies or games we enjoy. I can see this in the future...

Still a very good deal for someone that can't afford the 3 axis and will really enhance there experience. Got the pleasure this week to have a new D-BOX user thanks to this deal and the guy is all over. I think he watch a dozen movies over the last 5 days and with thanksgiving coming... It's so refreshing to see the excitment toward the "magic" that D-BOX is adding to the experience as he said...
