I was an early HDDVD supporter but now I primarily buy Blu Ray because of the ability to have motion codes.
I checked last night, and both my Pioneer Elite BDP-HD1 bluray player and Toshiba XA2 HDDVD player output via SPDIF and MCA simultaneously. I utilize the record output of my Lexicon MC-12 to route the SPDIF signals to the D-Box controller.
I only checked a SD DVD in the Toshiba player, then I ran out of time. I know that Yannick has stated that HD DVD won't work with the D-Box, but I'll try just the same.
If an HD DVD disc had both a Dolby True HD and a DD track, would this not work? I don't know if any discs with those two soundtracks exist or not, but that is what is happening with the bluray disc...it has LPCM and DD.
