A-Team and Salt need to be added to the "Coming Soon" list... but not before Toy Story 3 and Predators. And HtTYD.

Thank-you. I'm just bumping this to the top since they had 2 week vacation.

Looks like you got your wish. Also Once Upon a Time In Mexico and Desperado BD resynchs.

Machete and A-Team added to the in-progress list. I really like the fact that D-Box will stand behind their brand even after a studio mislabels a title with their logo.

I frankly cannot wait to experience the low-riders in Machete with D-Box. That's going to be hilarious!

FYI - on the D-Box main page, they're advertising a presence at CES... by appointment only.

So, it's been a full 70 days since Toy Story 3 was released... how much longer do you think we have to wait?

Hey all,
Just checking in here to tell everyone that I have a set of actuators up for sale in the classifieds. It is an original set for a great price and a perfect way for a D-Box newbie to get on board with the motion of tha' Ocean!

I assume that it is o.k. to mention this here since I paid for an ad and I'm not posting prices or providing links to other sites. I will probably E-Bay it as well but I'd prefer to sell it here to those that love and respect the technology.

I always see posts from people that wish they could afford the D-Box seating. These pistons will work amazingly for a platform of up to 4 seats and they cost comparatively little.

Now kindly carry on with your regular programming and thanks for the platform

Russ

Wow, he's really selling it.

Watching your chair really makes me wish I had a 4 actuator loveseat instead of the 2 actuator single I have. I guess I'd better start playing the lottery.

LOL You're cracking me up dude. Seriously. I hadn't even thought about the expression on his face. LOL

I'm telling you though, that D-BOX really immerses you into the movie.

Machete's coding has just been released. Hopefully Predators & TS3 are not far behind

Hello everyone,

This little message telling you that Benoit Mercier called to other duties, leaving the D-Box's technical assistance. He was replaced by Alexandre Guertin.

Here I would like to acknowledge the actions of Benoit, who has always been availability, competence and responsiveness.

I think it is the same for members of this forum have already been in contact with Benoit ...

FYI - The Losers has just been added to the in-progress list. I hope they add Shrek 4 eventually as well as I'm putting off watching that one until the codes exist.

It's much better than any of the other Shrek's. I'd like to see this one coded along with it's 3D counterpart (1, 2 & 3 in 3D as well).

Was Machete in work prior to Toy Story 3? I'm just baffled at why that title is taking so long.

No, it was added immediately after its release around the start of the month. TS3 and Predators have been in-progress since last October.

Hi Guys.
1 - Could someone please confirm that this player can output the uncompressed Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA soundtracks, while decoding the D-Box code at the same time?

2 - Is the hype true about this player? Do you really notice a difference in digital audio and picture quality? I'm currently using the Panasonic DMP-BD80.
Note--I would like to upgrade to 3D, but just don't have the money at this point.

Thanks.

I can 100% confirm the first, regarding 2, it is very very good.

I just demo'ed the coding for Machete. Bravo, D-Box! The low-rider scenes were hilarious, just as I had hoped.

I'm especially thankful that they even coded for the Audience Reaction track, which is my preferred method for watching Robert Rodriguez films.

Yep, it works perfect for this.

The digital audio quality is going to be the same. I did, however, notice an improvement in picture quality between the BDP-83 and the BDP-93. I love the PQ of the 93.

You may not be ready for 3D yet, but if you get this player, you'll be ready for it when the 3D TV arrives. I've had the 93 since the pre-release and I won't be getting a 3DTV until April/May (65" Panasonic VT30).

Has anyone seen the D-Box introduction/instructional video that plays before a commercial theatre D-Box presentation used in a non-commercial demonstration? I know I can download a 1080p version of this clip from YouTube, but what I am looking for is a version of this clip that will sync with my motion controller (provided, of course, that D-Box has released the coding for this clip to non-commercial controllers).

I would like to use it as a lead-in to a D-Box presentation during one of my movie nights. While I realize that my seats do not have individual controls like the commercial seats, I still really enjoy the beginning of this clip as it shows off the motion possibilities.

At one point, we were trying to get Yannick to put together a "demo" Blu-Ray disc for us that would include all of these D-BOX trailers, etc. Apparently it's going to arrive with the codes for Toy Story 3.

That was sarcasm by the way.

Thank you for the feedback. I was actually wondering though if it's worth the upgrade to go from the Panasonic DMP-BD80 to the Oppo BDP-93, with regards to picture and sound via HDMI, for Blu-rays only. Can anyone please give me some guidance on this?

Much appreciated.

These questions would be better suited for the BDP-93 thread....

Toy Story 3 is now up too! I can't wait to watch it!!!

About time. I guess I know what we're doing this weekend.

There was a post from a D-Box user in this thread a while back saying that he bought at a large discount from an authorized source and installed himself. He said he would spill the beans if you PM'ed him but I've PM'ed twice with no responses. I'm not a big believer in monopoly pricing so I'd like to a get a few comparisons and not just go with the only D-Box dealer within 2 hours of me. Can anyone PM me and help me out?

Wow, when it rains, it pours. A-Team and How to Train Your Dragon are also up.

Fantastic! Thanks D-Box!

I love the A-Team coding, it's awesome!!

On another note, this may be wishful thinking, but I think it would be great publicity for D-Box if Fox and/or Lucasfilm permits the re-codes for the Star Wars series BD release to be included on the discs.

Then again, with Fox's recent history of D-Box mislabelings, a D-Box label on the back of the box might happen even if D-Box doesn't request it ;-)

After all of that waiting, I was a little underwhelmed at the coding in Toy Story 3. Not that it didn't suit the movie- I'm not sure more extreme coding would fit very well... I just assumed that it took so long because of the complexity of the codes.

I'd say it was average.
