Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows : Part1

They originally snuck under my radar, but JttCotE and HtTYD are both synching in 3D as of the 15th of May.

I have these, but they don't have what I am looking for. I am looking for the scenes that D-Box created. They are on youtube but there is a version of these that sync MFX. I can tell because I see I have the codes for them.

I got them off of bit-torrent. I think that is the only way. The download was many GBs.

Saw The Avengers with D-Box on opening day.

I have never been to a D-Box theatre before that but man, that was awesome. Of course I had to keep it turned all the way up.

I would love to incorporate D-Box into my home theatre but they make it so dang hard to order. Would be nice to just get it locally or even a good online source.

BTW, do the home versions move/tilt the same as the cinema ones or do they get special versions to keep the market at bay?

Hi Pete!
How have you been? Where are you located? We should check each others systems out some time. PM me when you have a chance

Did you check their site to find a dealer near you? I am in the Dallas area and I was able to demo locally even though I ordered online. It should not be that hard to order.

The motion they use in the theater is the same movements and vibrations they use for the home systems. This is only limited by what you order. For example, there are 2 axis system and the 3 axis systems which are also used in the movie theaters. Furthermore, having D-Box installed in individual seats allows for more motion from side to side, whereas there are options to add D-Box to couches and love seats. I personally enjoy D-Box more at home as I don't care much for the theater seats and having my feet not move distracts from the enjoyment for me. If I do go to the movies, then I still prefer the D-Box seats to the regular ones in most theaters.

I have a new challenge for my D-Box system: noise reduction

My HT room where my D-Box is installed is on the third floor. My kids on the second floor are scared of the rumbling sound, my wife on the first floor is aggitated a lot too and both my neighbours at both sides also complain from time to time. So I have to do something about this before my wife finds out that there is a master volume that can be decreased!

Serious, isn t there something like a platform I could build to reduce the rumbling of my house and that from my neighbours?

Is the rumbling noise coming from your platform or the sub?

If the platform is doing it and you can elevate it, perhaps you isolate it from the floor below. This might entail a double layer of 3/4" plywood sitting on top of some rubber feet. Then your DBox sits on that.

I'm looking for some input. I have an older D-Box Odyssee XL system I bought back in 2007 and has been sitting on a shelf. I'm nearing completion of my theater and went to set it up and one of the actuators failed due to leaking fluid.

D-Box will repair the unit for a fee. But I'm curious to know if anyone else is still using this system and has their system failed or have they had good success. If you've had yours repaired...how long has it lasted since?

I'm concerned that the other three actuators may start to fail as well and may just cut my loses now.

Carpeting is getting installed in a couple weeks and I'd rather not have a seam in the middle of the room for the originally planned D-Box platform.

I recently made coding requests for:

Puss in Boots
IMAX: Under the Sea
IMAX: Grand Canyon Adventure
Firefly

D-Box hasn't released the versions you've seen in theatres on Blu-ray. There are some obscure D-Box demo DVDs out there, but they're from several years ago.

An alternative to Scuba Steve's disc is to just make your own using TSMuxer and multiAVCHD.

I forgot to report back last week that Battleship's coding is a serious competitor to the work done on The Avengers. It may actually be better! The scenes with the spinning machines were absolutely brilliant. I can't believe they just released two full-length demo worthy movies consecutively. We're going to have a lot to look forward to when these street.

Can anyone confirm that any EU version of Tintin works with D-Box, I have tried two different with no luck

Is Red Tails on anyone's short list? I haven't heard much good about it, but I figured I would only watch it in D-Box.

I have no interest in seeing that movie.

Not even the train-wreck-can't-look-away kind of interest? I have a friend who was a Tuskegee and he and his friends (so he told me) thought it was pretty favourable. That's the only positive review I've heard and I swore on my mother's grave never to give another red cent to George Lucas... but... you know...

What don't you understand? I'm sure none of us know all of the intimate details, but someone can probably answer your question.

The DVD or Blu-ray player connects to the D-Box "Controller" via a digital optical or digital coaxial cable. The DVD or Blu-Ray player will send the Dolby Digital or DTS lossy tracks to the D-Box controller in order for the controller to detect and sync with the movie.

The D-Box controller sends the motion information to the seating via a shielded network cable.

If you go with a laptop solution, the D-Box controller hooks up to the laptop via USB and the laptop stores all of the motion codes.

Does anybody have any new information on Popcorn Hour compatiblity with D-Box (simultaneous unadulterated output to both HDMI and legacy audio)? There is a thread here on the C4 forums that I've been trying to get an answer from a C4 dealer that is pushing them. Doesn't sound to me like the company will commit to compatibility:

2 D-Box thoughts-

1. How long until they post those John Carter and Journey 2 codes?

2. Does anyone have a used KAI controller they'd like to sell me?

Is this supposed to be a rhetorical question wink.gif

So much for "available day and date of release".

Now that I posted something snarky, I'm sure they will be up shortly. I'm more interested in Chronicle myself. The availability delay Redbox and Netflix are forced into actually helps us D-Box owners sometimes, at least that is one way to look at it.

Journey 2 is up (and a few others I personally don't have an interest in) but where are those John Carter codes?!?
John Carter (3-D) is up. I didn't even see them working on this one. Wow.
John Carter was D-Box theatrcally. It's been on the "New Releases" part of the coming soon list for months. Same as Journey 2.

Good news that it's up, though.
