Just looked at this link, thought it would be a break off of HDMI based on the post you had before this one. I don't see why this would not work.

Is $65 cheap?
Lol, well that depends on who you ask. I still think you may be fine with the $25 Turtle Beach product.

I just noticed now, but has anyone tried the latest MCI software that was released in May? This part sounds great for those with IP control.

Added TCP/UDP commands support

But there is no new documentation on the website, just RS232 docs. Perhaps you get a web interface now?

I don't think there is a web interface. I will contact them, but on my backburner right now.
I've loaded the new firmware and contacted DBOX and Antonin sent me a technical document that hopefully I can play with or my Control4 dealer can use. You seem to use the same commands as RS232 but in an IP connected terminal session.

I don't want to post the document here without permission but just contact support if you want it.

Have you ever put your cell phone down next to your computer speakers and you hear this electronic hum coming from your speakers every now and then? It's kinda off and on like Morse Code.

Well, when I'm sitting in my D-Box chair, any time during the movie that doesn't have much motion, I am getting this intermittent electronic hum (or buzz) from the D-Box system. It is VERY audible and it only stays on for a second or two, but it is very annoying. I am having a terrible time trying to narrow it down. I don't know if it's one of the two actuators on that side of the seat or if it's the electronic control that hooks up to the two actuators. I just don't know.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do I resolve it?
I have, but have never tried to do anything about it. If it is just us 2 that have it, you know what that means :O.

LOL
Wow, it looks like they slipped in the original The Crow the other day in the completed codings listing. Very cool! I've been wanting to experience that one for a long time.

I also experience this and I do not know what to do about it, but it would be nice to get rid of it!

Can't wait for Demolition Man, I think that'll be fun & it's surprising that this title was overlooked in the past

I just noticed that this is sneaking up on a year old. We saw Assassins get MFX, but did Demolition Man get forgot about? smile.gif

I actually asked them about this title again a few months ago and they said they would eventually get to it this year. They said they had some other catalog and/or high-priority titles they wanted to finish first. Since it has been a while though, perhaps they did forget.

FYI folks - For the next year or a bit more, I'm going to have to live vicariously through you guys as I just packed up all of my HT gear and put it in storage. Use your seats proudly in my absence!

I ran some Cat 5 before my seats got here. I don't think it was shielded. What did your run?

The in-wall Cat 5 is the shielded cable provided by D-Box. Everything outside of the wall is non-shielded. You think it would make a difference if I got all shielded?
Only what is within the signal path. You can always test by running a temp line with all shielded. I plan on doing the same test as well, but it will be a while before I get to it.

Dredd and The Possession where announced today.

PS, I just noticed that I had been posting as thxext. Not sure why, but I am sorry. I had created that account some years back when I forgot this logon after being away for a while.

Codes for Lockout and Cellular are up.
Are these cables shielded and good for use with D-Box?
Yes, if you are are looking at the ones under "Cat5e STP (Shielded Twist Pair) Straight Cables" at the bottom of that page.

Yeah. The link I provided should have taking you all the way down to those automatically.

Time to place an order. smile.gif

Look forward to your feedback. I hope it works.

On a side notes, Spawn Blu Ray re-sync is out. Not a great movie, but good for a night of fun.

I ordered the cables. I'll let you know how it goes. I hope it fixes it, but I'm not really expecting it to.

I initially bought a pair of SRP-120 platforms but I never tested the out before I sent them to D-Box for conversion into a single SRP-230. Other than that they are unmodifyed. I run shielded Cat5e cables and have tested unshielded without any difference. I have take special notice to place them away from any other cabling in my system but the morse code fenomena does not go away. Usually when I hear it I tend to rock my body a little and it seem that the sound is a little amplified when I put more weight on the back of the platform.

I need to rebuild my laptop (it's getting too slow) that contains the MCI Motion Controller software and the database of all the D-Box movie motion codes. Is there any way to back up all of the database so I don't have to spend a day or two re-downloading all of the codes from the server? If it's possible, what, exactly do I need to back up and move back after I rebuild the laptop and reinstall the MCI Motion Controller software?
