HELL YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just picked it up today and had many questions answered in the process . I must have it up and running by tomorrow or I may commit homicide or at least some bodily injury to someone . I have been dreaming about this moment for years and it has finally come to pass . As my daydreaming of this day required I danced my way into the store and continued the transaction . The only sad part is outside of some promised new tech (Dolby Atmos and 4K) there's really nowhere to go .biggrin.gif:D:D

Congrats Jillbrazil!

I'm curious what questions you asked and how your D-box dealer answered them. I think it would be a good source of "current" D-box info for not only current fans/owners, but more importantly for potential/future D-box owners. Unfortunately Yannick and other D-box representatives who used to frequent this forum no longer answer questions here.

Thank you for your kind words . No need to wait for Christmas this year . Mostly my questions were geared toward actual installation whereupon I learned that it sits on a platform as opposed to bolting it to the seat to avoid rubbing against the chair . I will know more tomorrow when I get the codes installed . Apparently it takes some time to get them from D-BOX but in the meantime you can get all the current codes from your dealers server . .Of course Iwill be stopping by with more questions as well as impressions .

Haha, mine is arriving tomorrow! smile.gif

Congrats to all the new installs. I hope everyone posts pictures of their setups smile.gif.

D-Box has been very responsive to my emails and via their FB page.

Wasn't The Dark Knight Rises coded for the theater? So the codes should be sent to us real soon.

Finding Nemo in 3D was awesome last night.

Up in 3D with D-Box is tonight (not sure if it downloaded new codes for the 3D BD last night).
I also need to check out iRobot in 3D.
I didn't see Finding Nemo in the recents, so maybe it worked with the existing codes? No Up either. Can't remember if replacements show up in the list though.

I forced a download at lunch and no Dark Knight.

News update . It's nice to know that D-BOX is responsive to emails as I will be having my first dealings with them this week . It's been a mad scramble this week to get it setup for this weekend at least . At this moment I am preparing to download the motion codes to a used laptop I got from my nephew . The salesman I dealt with is really nice and responsive but I knew more about the system than he did . I suppose when you obsess over something you think you'll never have you tend to become an expert on it . All I need now is an OPPO and a motorcycle helmet to hand to guests who try it . Oh yeah CKENISELL . I saw the video of your son watching Monsters and Aliens . Some kids have the coolest parents .

Big news for HTPC users: Germain just updated MPC-HC and LAV filters to the latest versions! Everything is much more stable now then his last releases back in april 2012.

I am due to renew my D-box code subscription and the prices I have on my form are 12-month for $250 US and 4-year for $800 US. Is there another type of form or have the prices just gone up since the last time you renewed your subscription? Thanks for your input.

It's that time of year again... I took a quick inventory of some movies I was surprised are not coded, or on the 'working on' list. Here are the newer ones:

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (3D)
Wrath of the Titans (3D)

And here are the rest:
007 2- From Russia With Love
007 3- Goldfinger
007 6- On Her Majesty's Secret Service
007 10- Spy Who Loved Me
007 11- Moonraker
007 12- For Your Eyes Only
007 15- Living Daylights
Aliens of the Deep (3D theatrical)
All Star Superman
Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 & 3
Australia
Batman 1,3
Beauty and the Beast (3D)
Bill and Ted 1&2
Dark Crystal
Firefly
Ghosts of the Abyss (3D)
Gnomeo and Juliet (3D)
Gremlins 1&2
Lion King (3D)
NeverEnding Story 1&2
Next Avengers
Superman 1-3 (Donner Cut)
Transformers 1986

Yes, I realize there are some on there that will never get done, but some I found really surprising.

"Fire with Fire" from Redbox didn't look to be a neutered rental version, but it did not trigger D-box for me. It is a Lionsgate release. That trend is starting to get annoying.

I may have been mistaken. I don't know if the price has gone up.

The Dark Knight Rises codes came out today. I just got through watching that movie. I saw it one time at the theater and I decided to wait until it hit D-Box at home for my second viewing. All I can say is WOW! The movie is MUCH better a second time around, the surround sound at home was amazing and the D-Box codes put this movie over the top.

It makes me want to go back and watch the entire Nolan trilogy.

Need to pass out but before I go does anyone know of any other bd player besides the OPPO that does lossless and bitstream ? I'd like to see all the options . The OPPO 93 looks enticing .
Yes, the Oppo 103. Same price.

Only thing to take notice of is that the 103 is Cinavea infected and the 93 is not.
Very true. Good thing to keep in mind. I have the Oppo 93 and I will probably hold on to it for a long time.

The Live Update insists on downloading the DVD and extra languages, and seemingly ignores the settings when I set it to get the BD ones only.
Has anyone else witnessed that and knows of a way around it? It s been downloading for days and it is still in the D letter!...ok...now E(.T.) smile.gif
post #5541 of 6359
Nope. Those settings don't really do anything that I've noticed. I've tried English only. U.S. region coded, Blu-Ray only and it downloads everything anyway. It's not too bad once everything is downloaded and you only have to download incremental titles. You can even de-select titles you don't want. So, if you have buddies over ready to watch a new release, then you can just download the single title within minutes and be ready to watch the movie.

Oh well, at least it s not just me smile.gif

Thanks Chet.

Does anyone ever talk about the IMPACTS you get from this thing . I just finished Matrix Reloaded awhile ago and I feel like I've been in a car accident . I suppose I should back off of maximum til I get the hang of it .

Everyone is different. One of the nice things about D-Box is the ability to adjust it to how you like it.

Personally, D-Box has never left me with a negative effect. Car accidents often impose G-Forces that well exceed 40 Gs, yet D-Box probably does not even hit 2 Gs.
In my first post about my review of the theatrical version of D-BOX I mentioned the after effects are similar to the feeling you get after spending a day at the beach rolling around in the waves . You can still feel it when you go to sleep . I felt kind of out of it after watching that movie yesterday . I've since toned it down a bit . Highly addictive though . biggrin.gif

I am glad to see you are enjoying your D-Box setup. I have had mine for a year and a half and I still get excited about D-Box. There are not too many things that I have purchased that have had this lasting effect.

The 007 ones are a surprise, I'd really like to see them done.

Yeah, the 007, Batman and Superman ones were the shockers. I didn't even bother looking them up and just assumed they were D-Box compatible,

Still surprised to have not heard anything about Lincoln and Titans though...

Someone needs to test DBOX with a downloaded movie that has existing codes from the Kaliedescape store.
