Deleted all my MFX codes and did a new full download. 24 hours of downloading later, Looper still does not work for me frown.gif.

That's weird. Could there be a difference between the Canadian release and the US one?

Any d-box gamers? PM me.

Has anyone in the US gotten Looper to work?

No go on Netflix copy for me, didn't check yet to see if it is a neutered version or not. At this point I'm just writing it off if a Netflix copy doesn't work with D-BOX. Ridiculous its to that point.
Netflix is same as retail on this one. D-Box told me the are going to take care of this. Thanks for the feedback.

I will now . Maybe to get him interested in this aspect of home theater one of us can invite him over to try it out . It can be very persuasive . Is anyone else on this thread looking to purchase one of these ? Just throwing this out there . I found a company called Luxchroma online so I might see if they would make one .

I haven't paid for a movie d-box subscription yet. Can I watch a movie with d-box by just buying a bluray disc with the embeded motion in it? If possible where can I find a list of embeded d-box motion bluray discs? Thanks.

I don't think you are going to find a good complete list. Some titles are notorious for having the logo on the back and the codes not being included on the discs.

Feb.-Mar. Sound and Vision mag has a SRP-230 and IV/BD Motion Controller review. By John Sciacca. "Certified and Recommended". Only con listed is Subscription required, which isn't even technically true.
Thanks for sharing. Not required, but recommended for sure.

Nice, a handful of releases today. smile.gif

Using my cell phone... Looper did not work for me. Whats the deal?

I expect the beginning of End of Watch to be a great experience. Could someone please try it out so I can live vicariously?

They told me they could not find another copy (outside of what they had) so I sent them mine. Should be soon that Looper gets fixed.

i guess Sony is working on a replacement for the Total Recall disc as well. I imagine that could cause problems for D-Box as they may need to identify two different versions?
I have not kept up with that. Just have a copy of Total Recall sitting here ready to go. Guess I will read up on it.

Watched this tonight. Not a big fan of found footage movies, but this was good. D-Box MFX was well thought out and added to the overall enjoyment. They must have put a lot of time into this one. Lots of 1st person car scenes that worked very for D-Box.

What do you guys think about the future of D-Box for existing home users like us? I mean, 4K is on its way and I have a feeling that optical coaxial/spdif will not be present anymore when we move on to the next generation (streaming or maybe on more generation of optical discs). D-Box really has to make us a HDMI capable decoder. I know they told us they have been working on it but the last time I asked D-Box (Benoit and Antonin) they told me that they cannot tell me anything about this. I have a feeling that they are not working on a HDMI solution at all anymore. frown.gif

EDIT: yes, I know that there is a workaround atm be using a player like the Oppo and there is even a HTPC solution which I helped to create smile.gif but some day we ll have to go HDMI in my opinion)

Uh-oh! My subscription just expired. Have they added an electronic pay method in the past year, or do I still have to mail a check to Canada?

If there is an actual 4k disc format, I think we will be ok. I'm sure there were these same types of discussion when DVD went to HDDVD/BD.

If everything goes streaming, I think we are in trouble. There will be too many variables for all the different sources for streams.

I think we'll have to buy upgraded motion controllers at some point in the future, and that D-Box will make the switch only when they have to.

I have the signage on the way from the Ebay vendor I mentioned earlier. Quite a few of my signs ended up being new ones for them, and they sent me proofs and they look great. I will let everybody know how it turns out when I have them in my hands. I'd say I'd post pics, but I'm not sure how soon I will actual get them put up.

100% agree with this. DTS-MA and DD HD may be around for a while. They prob will keep the digital audio out to keep options open for those who ask for it.

They let me fill out a form with my Credit Card info and email it to them.

Not only that, but they HAVE to keep those options. The Dolby and DTS specs for DD HD & DTS-MA stipulate that there must be a lossy core track. So, even if a 4K disc arrives, there will still be DD and DTS lossy core tracks available.

Last week D-Box was at ISE in the Amsterdam RAI. I spoke with Mario and Yannick. Great guys! I asked Yannick to come over to my home and last weekend we met at my place. Yannick is a really nice person. We talked for hours and we ate so called Erwtensoep smile.gif (a Dutch soup).

Yannick was very impressed with my custom seatings that were made by Charlie from Starline Cinema Seating. The construction is the best that can be made for the use with the D-Box system. 100% D-Box compatible smile.gif

Yannick did not tell me things in detail and even if he did I could not post it here but there are some exiting things going to happen in the near future for new AND existing D-Box users!!
