HTPC + D-Box update:

It s been 2 years since D-Box user Germain made a special version of MPC-HC and LAV filters in order to work with D-Box on a HTPC. A lot of things happened since then and both MPC and LAV filters got very mature. I tried to get in contact with Germain for the last 2 years now but he seems to be vanished unfortunately. So some time ago I got in touch with the author of MPC-BE. He created a D-Box friendly version with dual audio output support. There is still one big issue however, TrueHD track dual audio output does not work. It worked with the version of Germain but Germain got a complete other approach on the version he created.

Please read the following thread:
http://dev.mpc-next.ru/index.php/topic,2218.15.html (use google translate because the problem is that the author of MPC-BE does not speak English so we talked in Russian and I used the Google translater).

If you read the thread you will see what the problem is: TrueHD.

In order to make a D-Box version that works perfect he wants money smile.gif
Maybe we can make a deal for 200 dollar with him. If we have something like 4 D-Box users that would like to fund this we can split costs and all pay 50.

What you guys think?

well, not much interest for this.......
I made a deal with the author of MPC-BE he will make what we D-Box users need for € 250 with support (updated versions) for at least 3 years. This sounds like a good deal to me. I will jump into it myself and pay the full price. If someone want/need the HTPC D-Box solution PM me anytime. Of course I will charge something for it but that makes sense.

Can anyone confirm whether the UK Frozen 3D BD synchs with the currently available codes?

I just got the disc in the mail. I'm er... between subscriptions at the moment. I need to renew for Thor, Gravity, Hobbit, etc... but Frozen would get the wife's permission fastest. But it would be a big bummer to have it not work off the bat.

Wish I could confirm, as I also ordered the UK BD, but I took the opportunity to order a few other region-free BDs and all 3 of them are in the package and Frozen is missing!

It wasn't enough of a hassle/expense before dealing with Disney's stupidity on this, now I get to wait even longer. Luckily its Amazon.

I will let you know ASAP. It should arrive in the mail any day now. Amazon UK says that it should arrive on April 9. Well, that's today. We'll see.

Thanks, guys.

Was the desolation of Smaug d-box compatible in the theater? I'm trying to figure out if we'll see it any day now or within the next 6 months?

It was. Until the website is fixed a google search with D-BOX and the movie name or a search of the history of their Facebook page should give you the answer.

Website is working for me, lists release of codes on 4/14.
"Fixed" in that upcoming used to be more than 3-5 days ahead of time. But they must have snuck that change in there since I looked.

Regarding in UK 3D version of Frozen, I hope the following answers your questions: wink.gif

Yeah, it would be awesome if we could get An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition synced around the same time as The Desolation of Smaug release.

Ran into major issues with the upgrade project (they are working with me ...), so I haven't bothered them yet about the discs I sent. When people have sent in discs before how long does it usually take? I've never done it before, and I'm sure it varies, but it would be a starting point to see how long we should expect to wait. I'm not even sure that EE wasn't already in the pipeline.

Speaking of that the Jaymar support issue I've been talking about isn't dead yet, but they are the slowest company I've ever worked with.

Ill shoot them an email to get an eta. Thanks!

I HATE my Jaymar seating. It's the most uncomfortable furniture I own. I know that most will say, "it's supposed to be more firm for D-Box", but I can deal with the firmness. I'm talking about the location of the head rest, lower lumbar location, etc. Sooooo uncomfortable.

Just an FYI, The Desolation of Smaug codes are out.

US copy of Rush works, but did not at 1st. They had to order a "US Version" and sync it.

Boxers,  I am a building contractor that has a client that just had a major home theater installed.  He had 5 custom seats made with the 3250i (might be 3400),  3 actuator system built in.  He only had room for 4.   This is new in the box, with power cord and control cable.  I am wondering if anyone here would be interested in this.  As my name would imply, I am in Kentucky.

This is the chair.  It is Black velvet with some lovely gold tassles on the bottom.  With CUP HOLDERS!! Although I'm not sure that's a good idea with the actuators in full mode.

Let me know what you think.
