Was on the phone today trying to get a new DVR (my series II 6412 is on the fritz). While talking to them, she was talking about a new unit that was going to be deployed in Chicago sometime this year.

Asked her if she knew what model etc it was... if it was a Moxi or something else, and she had no idea. Asked her if she just meant the TIVO branded Moto box and she said no... there was definitely a new HD DVR coming out? Huh? She just blowing smoke up my rear?

Comcast is now deploying both the SD & HD DVR STB Made by PACE for Motorola Based Cable systems. (Not yet available in all areas.)

they are 160 GB HD

They use the same Remote code as the Motorola DCT series.

When? Where? Wish Comcast would let us know about rollout dates...

Yes, the new multi card SA STB will begin to be deployed later this year.

also, all comcast SA STB will get there own version of the I-Guide EPG software and new DVR software.

And they have an active eSATA port.

Thank goodness some new stuff is rolling out. I'm new to HD and in my area they're still giving out the SA 8000HD from 2004. It gets the job done I guess, but I'd kill for an HD guide that can display more than a couple hours' worth of programming, and a better DVR interface.

Ok. I am a bit confused. I am going to be upgrading from a 6208 and need to be able to tell the difference between the PACE and Motorola 160GB models. Are the numbers the same (i.e., 6416) and if so, how can I tell them apart when I go to order from Comcast?

FYI - I am in the Bosotn area and Panny's are supposedly going to be deployed there as well which makes the choice between sitting and waiting more difficult.

For more information on the Pace box I suggest that you look at this thread: TDC775 Tahoe Pace 700 Series - High Definition DVR . We have one of the Pace software developers participating in the thread. He has been extremely helpful in developing firmware fixes to a couple of problems that we have had with the Pace box.
