Discovery ran several episodes of Top Gear, then stopped doing it. RIP. I will not shed a tear. The American episodes were sterilized for political correctness, they lacked a good deal of sarcasm and bluntness of original show. They also were significantly shorter and included ads, while original show runs for a whole hour nonstop, no ads. Seems that after doing several castrations of original episodes, Discovery guys realized that they would have to cut about everything to bring the show to American higher standards of sterile, dull and stupid, so they gave up.
I hope that now when Discovery stopped the nonsense, BBC America will pick up the fallen torch and will air unabridged Top Gear including all the jokes and all the European cars too, does not matter that these cars are not sold in U.S. C'mon BBC, if you do it, I will sign up for the channel. Oh, and please do it in widescreen, upconverted WS PAL will work for me.
