There is no point in matching display and player manufacturer; they're not designed or built by the same departments. Probably not even tested with each other.

Did you get your display checked out? It sounds like a bad display OR VERY POSSIBLY you don't have something configured correctly. Have you read the manuals and been through the menus for both display and player?

yes I have read them both.
I have taken my DVD player and HDMI cable to best buy to test it on their TV's. They didn't have my model but they put it on the samsung that is simillar to mine and everything looked much better.,

Pixilation, could be macroblocking, in which case a new DVD player may benefitial, if that's what it is.

I have an upconversion problem of my own. I have a Panasonic S97 connected to a Panasonic plasma TH-42PV500A which i believe is equivilant to your TH-42PX500U. When i upscale to either 720p or 1080i i get a green tinge or push in the picture, most notable in light blacks, greys, browns and blues. When the plasma recieves the 720p or 1080i signal it locks itself into the HD colour matrix and cannot be changed. I'm wondering if this is what's causing the problem. The DVD player has the latest firmware and i know thw S97 is known for the macroblocking problem, but i do not not believe it applies to this situation. Does anybody know a fix or work around for this problem. Please help!
