Can't get into menu of old Sony

I've got an old 19" Sony without a remote (which was lost years and years ago) and now I need to get into the menu to have it search for channels. The TV was previously hooked up to satellite and was configured to only accept channel 3. Now it's hooked to analog cable and I want to have it scroll through all the channels when I press Channel Up or Channel Down. But I can't do this until I get into the menu.

I've tried several universal remotes with all the different Sony codes, as well as remotes from other Sony TVs, but I can't find one that will get me into the menu. Are there any other tricks to get into the menu, like press Power twice, Channel Up once, slap the side, etc?

Considering the price of the remote, you're better off buying a new tv.

You should also keep checking ebay, or maybe get an old sony remote from that era for a different sony tv from ebay.
Check out these remotes, there's a good chance they will work because remotes.com sells the same remotes for your tv. the missing part of the url is ebay dot com
The original remote for your tv is model RM-781

Wow. Thanks, guys. I didn't expect that I could still get a remote for this TV. But for $75 I think I'll just make my son type in a channel number and hit Enter. "Channel Up" isn't worth $75. :-) I'm not even sure how long this little TV will keep working.

It's $35 plus shipping on the site Orkedian gave.
The model number for the original remote for your tv was
SONY RM-781

Good news. I have a friend that used to be a solid Sony customer and he had a bunch of old remotes, including one with an Auto PGM button. It was corroded and barely functional, but eventually the button worked. The TV reprogrammed, and voila!

Thanks for everyone's help.
