7" Mount: Epson 810/TW700

I need a mount that will fit a medium sized projector (Epson 810/TW700) that's total height from ceiling to projector bottom would be 7"?

Ideally one adjustable from 5" to 10".

All ones I've found are either flush (3-4") for this dimension, or extended with only 9" and higher.

i bought this mount:

But it is a bit too long with the extension, and need it a couple inches shorter.

I can always cut the extension pipes by that much I guess.

Any recommendations?

They use a theaded pipe for the extension. As long as the extension tubes are a common diameter size (like 1", 1.25", 1.5",...), then you can get the size you want from any hardware store. You can even have a custom size cut and threaded for you. They might even cut the 9" pipe that comes with the mount and rethread the cut end. I know the big box stores like Home Depot carry some threaded pipes already that might work. Look at the threaded pipes in the plumbing section.

Does it matter if the mount is positioned about 1/4 over to one side of the projector, rather than extending directly up from the center?

Due to the length of the extended arms on the mount, I cannot position the mount to extend up from the center of the mounting holes on the projector, but instead have to shift it about 25% to one side. The projector is of even weight, so no problems there, but wondering if anyone else has their projector mounted where the mount doesn't extend directly up from the center of their mounting holes on the projector.

I think you will be OK. It's a small, light projector so being a little offcenter should be ok. As long as the mount isn't having a problem then I don't see a reason why it would be a problem.

That's good. I hope so. I'd hate to have it fall on anyone's head one day.
