Wanna See What CBS Has Lined Up For the Day a Bear Devourers a Colt?

Although the biggest NFL game of the year is often a place for networks to introduce the latest production gizmos, for Super Bowl XLI, CBS is keeping it simple.

That is, if deploying some 500 staffers, positioning 47 HD cameras and replacing the lights at Miami's Dolphin Stadium is keeping it simple.

To be sure, the scope of CBS' Super Bowl production in Miami on Feb. 4 is typically immenseevidenced by multiple production trucks provided by vendors NEP, Coreplex and New Century Productions with sophisticated replay, graphics and audio units. But there won't be anything radically new for the matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saintsjust a lot of state-of-the-art equipment, all in one place.

"We want to make sure we're putting the game first," says Tony Petitti, executive VP/executive producer, CBS Sports. "It's not about using any one camera or how many replays you do. It's really about letting the game happen and not trying to force any plan you have onto the game."

I do think it's awesome they are changing all the lights to make it look good.

Cuz brother, what they won't do to overcome bad lighting. ugh.

The better the lighting, the better the HD!

And the other TV stations aren't taking this sitting down either, they've been putting together some killer line-ups to compete with the Bears victory, ooop, I mean game.

For example, NBC is airing FOUR HOURS of back to back "Grease: You're The One That I Want" repeats, and WGN has got three hours of "Beauty and the Geek" (whatever that is) repeats. Fox and ABC are showing movies.

So you're saying that the other networks are rolling over and playing dead.

Yeah, that's what Grossman and the defense are having for breakfast I'm sure.

I wonder if it's separate planes coming home.

I am happy they went as far as they did. I just wish they would've remembered to show up to play.

So can anyone tell me how the rain and rain spots on the lenses looked in HD?

Seemed like upper cameras fogged up pretty bad and the sideline cameras had spots. Nothing terrible but definitely noticeable.
