Sempron or Celeron possible in HTPC?

Thread Starter
I am looking to build a HTPC that will be used almost 99% for DVD playback. Because my PJ is an Infocus 4805, having to display higher resolutions will not be an issue. It is also doubtful that I will make use of ffdshow, as again I am using a lower-res projector and the effects would be understated.

My question to you: Would it be possible to build this system around a Celeron or Sempron processor with no performance issues? Since I will not be running any post processing or filters, I would not think it would be a problem.

My goal is to create a "super"-DVD player, capable of playlists, variety of media types and more control + double as a DVD server for the theater room.

Any current generation processor from AMD or Intel (celery or sempy) will have no problems playing back DVD providing you have a relatively recent video card and the proper software. My ancient Intel P3 1Ghz + All in Wonder Radeon circa 2000 does DVD all day long without breaking a sweat.

Sempron 3000+ in my system = no problem.
