Interference on component cable run

Hi, I have a projector with a 30' component cable run, it's been set up for about 2 years now. I don't use it all that much, but recently I fired it up and I get one green and one pink line scrolling up the picture. I did some trouble shooting and it points to the component cables. I did some research here when I bought them and I chose custom Belden coax with Canare connectors. They are run under the carpet which causes them to get stepped on sometimes, I'm wondering if that has damaged them. I have tested them with none of the other components on and the problem persists.

Anyone know how I can fix this problem or do any other testing? The superbowl is this weekend and I would love to have my clean picture back! Thanks for any help.

Rick... First I would unplug and replug the componenet cables in both the PJ and the source then see if that fixed it. Sometimes reseating cables does wonders. If not, for troubleshooting I would put a DVD player or cable box close enough to the PJ and use different component cables. If the problem goes away you know it's your cable run. If the problem is still there using different cables and source then... sorry to hear about your PJ!

Did the cable possibly get pinched from furniture sitting on it?

guys, thanks for the replys. I did some searching on the forum and tried to see if it was a ground loop problem. I turned on my components again and could not repeat the problem until I turned on the lights in the next room, which I just replaced recently with the energy saving bulbs! In the end, the problem was solved by running the coax cable input from the wall through the monster HT800 surge protector, which I should have been doing anyway.

Rick, I had this very same problem and I thought it was my component cables or my projector. I even sent my projector in for service to try to fix it. Turns out it was simply a group loop problem. There is nothing wrong with your cables. The loop is probably entering through your cable box or cable connection. I bought a cheap $10 connector to fix the problem and it did the job. If you want to buy the same connector, just PM and I'll direct you to the site.

Google "21 Best Cable TV Ground Isolator". The 21 Best site has a high-quality Jensen Ground Isolator for $55.
