A few weeks ago after I got a PS3 and hooked it up with DVI I noticed the screen was shifted at least an 1 1/2" to the left while playing Resistance and Ridge Racer. I had hardly ever noticed it before on my Xbox 360 except with PD0, so I had no idea it was as bad as it was. I looked online and found this forumn and used others directions on how to get into the service menu and change horizontal amp and horizontal shift to fix the problem.

Well, I got the screen looking almost perfect whether through component, dvi or just watching tv, but since then I have noticed that while playing almost every game, except those that run at faster framerates such as COD2, that it seems to look like it's doubling evreything on screen or something now even in 720p. This never happened before and I first noticed it while playing Resistance, which used to look wonderfully smooth while playing. I just don't understand why games that run at faster framerates seem to not do this much or at all (COD2 still looks like I'm playing on a nice PC monitor) but ones that seem to be in the 30 fps average show this issue up well.

The best way to describe the problem is when normally playing in pro-scan and looking around everything stays smooth just like if you're standing still looking forward in the game. Now, it looks smooth when standing still but when I turn the camera up, down, left or right everything starts this wierd doubling effect. It's easiest to see when looking at a straight line such as the edge of a building. You see the straight edge, then you turn the camera and you see 2 straight edges...on everything. Then it goes back to normal when I stop looking left and right. Same thing with a power line in the game. Look up and down you see 2, then stop and it's back to normal. It reminds me of playing in interlaced except you don't see every other line of resolution chopping up. Just every edge in the games seem to bloom out into 2 edges that can be up to a half inch apart on the screen while looking around. The faster you move the camera, the farther apar the lines are that double. It looks like you are seeing double but only when you look around and up and down. Not when standing still. Almost like looking crosseyed at the screen only when it's moving. And it grains up like a 480i image when looking at good textures.

This does not happen to the gun on screen or the ammo counter or any other gauge on screen or even MY character model. Just everything else in the games. Weird huh?

Could changing the geometry do this and if so what is this called? I have never found anything about it and no one I tell this to seems to understand what I'm talking about. And is there any way to fix it? I tried putting the settings back to normal but it still did the same thing btw. And it does it on PS3 and 360 games as well.
