How to Stream tv to the DSM-520

I want to do this too.

The only way I've found to do it thus far (and only in theory because my feeds are DRM protected and I've yet to come up with a NMP that can handle DRM'd material) is by recording the material into .asf format using Windows Media Recorder and then start playback of the file being generated shortly thereafter.

This works using Windows Media Player, so I think it would probably work using the Upnp software that comes with most NMPs.

If anyone comes up with a better way, I'd love to hear about it.

The machine has been out for a long time. It it were possible, there'd be an easy-to-find solution out there.

FWIW someone has apparently gotten the HDHomeRun tuner to work with his DSM-520.

I don't think it allows channel changing from the 520 but you get "live tv" streamed to the box.

I got this concept working on a Mac G5 using Elgato Eyetv for recording from a TVMini HD and for streaming I used Eyeconnect 1.1 also from elgato, no hiccups at all.
