Has ANYONE heard the Philips Soundbar HTS8100 ??

Has anyone heard the Philips Soundbar HTS8100, it looks very interesting and it was at CES.
I have pulled up tons of sites talking about it but no reviews at all.
It was at CES, I heard that a few people went to CES this year, did no one hear it in action.
I did find one comment online that said it "sounded shrill", was there only one person at CES that heard it ????

Hate to bump something so old, but saw that it hadn't been answered yet. We got it in at work, and finally hooked it up. The thing is nicely put together and has a pretty good bass to it. But it's nowhere near an 800 dollar system IMO. Maybe more like a 400ish one at the most. I'd expect a lot more connections, etc, for 800.

Some questions for you.

You say you got it in at work, as in you have not hooked it up in a home setting ?

Could you be more specific as far as how you have it set up and how is the surround effect is ?

I have one ordered and should be delivered to me on Friday if UPS tracking is correct.

I just set up the encap display for it last night at work and linked it to a new Philips 42" 1080p ambilight. And put a DVD in for a spin. The unit itself is pretty slick looking, and I think it would be very nice looking wall mounted beneath a flat panel. My hearing is below average at best, and I'm far from an audiophile, but it did have very nice bass sound, and it did seem to have a good surround sound effect. The Woofer seems to be very stylish, and well put together and includes a fairly long amount of wiring for the woofer, so that you can put it on an adjacent wall. They also had the decency to throw in an HDMI cable, which is far from industry norm, although I guess it should be expected on an 800 dollar retail priced unit.

It definitely wasn't a home type setting, but due to power failure last night at my work, it was the only thing on for quite a while.

If you want to see one before Friday, it's supposed to be an Endcap at all Sears this month(where I work). You could probably call around to a few local ones and see if they have it set up if you want to do some of your own testing.

I checked UPS tracking and its getting delivered to me this Thurs. (June 21).
After I get it wall mounted under my plasma and all set-up I will post my opinions on it.

I have owned the Yamaha's YSP-800 and the YSP-1000 in the past so it will be interesting to see how the Philips compares to the YSP systems.

I did note the lack of an optical input, which kind of dissapointed me. Digital coax is acceptable, I guess. Let me know what you think about it, maybe it'll help me sell it
