I hooked up my 360 to my HT, now my DVD player doesn't work!! (HELP)

Hello...I have an urgent question. I purchased an XBOX 360 tonight. I also purchased an RCA Video Switch Box in order to switch between my DVD Player and the 360, as well as an optical audio cable for the 360. Even though the RCA Switcher isn't "component", I have seen it work to transmit HD picture with component cables so I thought it would make sense to use.

My 360 worked beautifully. After I was done playing, I switched it back to the DVD setting to make sure everything was working in order on that end, and the "red "on the component cable wasn't working. I checked all of the connections, disabled the switch box, used different component cables into different component inputs, I even used a different DVD player and the "red" still would not work. I hooked up my dish to the DVD component inputs and it worked great, just the DVD player is screwed. Does anyone have any idea what has happened and what I can do to fix it?

I have a Sony progressive scan DVD player and a Yamaha receiver. Thanks for any help on this...

Are you saying that both your dvd players don't send red now? Is it just through the switcher or when connected directly?

Yeah try a direct conection to the TV. If it works then. Your switch is at falt.

I'd get a regular commponet switcher as it can handdle the higher bandwith of HDTV and even in some cases 480p (progesive scan of the dvd player)

-Make sure your running the right cables. As their are 2 reds 1 for audio and 1 for commponet. So make sure you aren't mixing those up.

-bypass the switch to assure that's not it..

.Otherwise I don't know.
