Crystalio 3300, Anthem D2 or DVDO 50

Ok, my short list for a video processor is Crystalio 3300, Anthem D2, or a DVDO 50. I am leaning toward the Crystalio with the Anthem a close second. I have Sony VW50 Pearl projector, PS3, Tivo HD, and HTPC. Right now I have all video going direct to the projector (two HDMI and one component) and all audio (two optical and one coaxial digital) going direct to ADA processor that has no HDMI input.

The Anthem and DVDO seem to have all the necessary inputs, but the Crystalio lacks having two optical inputs. If I feed any of these three processors with HDMI video / audio, will they convert and output via a single optical or coaxial digital output? Or am I going to be forced to exclude the Crystalio from my list?

The Crystalio II does optical/coxial digital output from a HDMI input source.

So does the VP50.

I have read on the Crystalio website forum that there are problems specifically with the HDMI output to coaxial or optical output with HD Tivo when changing channels. I also saw mention of problems with a HD Tivo, but couldn't find the specific problems.

I wouldn't technically need the VP50 to convert HDMI to digital, just because it has enough optical inputs. I actually prefer coaxial digital, but it seems like Sony and Tivo did not value my opinion.

For future equipment upgrades will the Crystalio and/or DVDO pass HDMI 1.3 audio?

The Anthem D2 was on the market before the other 2 scalers came out. Anthem were the first to came out with a Gennum VXP scaler, since they have alot more man power.

So you could expect HDMI 1.3 on the Anthem before DVDO or PixelMagic will put a HDMI 1.3 scaler on the market.

Of the three which one does PiP better?

I think id give the edge to the anthem D2 just because of its first class audio. You do kill 2 birds with one stone and with what Funlvr has told me about lossless audion on the D2 thats the way id be looking to go of these three.

Im likely going to go for a HDQ myself, as the Crystalio and the D2 blow my budget up right now. If I were to go for one of those though, the D2 seems like it would kill 2 birds in one stone to me.
