I'm in the market for a new LCD, and am having trouble deciding between the Sharp LC-42D62U and the Samsung LN-S4095D. The Sharp is 2" larger, but I am ok with the smaller screen on the Samsung if I can expect a better picture.
I have roughly 42.5" of horizontal space for the set, so I'm trying to fit the largest panel I can in the media niche. I am considering taking the doors off so I can fit a 46" set in there, but only as a last resort.
Update: Well, I picked up the Sharp LC-42D62U and not only is there a scuff below the left speaker on the bottom of the set, but there's also a glaring dead pixel. So I'll be returning it tomorrow. The closest CC with the Samsung in stock is about 50 miles away, and I'm willing to drive the distance to get the set if it's worth it.
Any help would be surely appreciated.
