12V Trigger help

Can anyone walk me through how a 12v trigger for a Screen Innovations screen is supposed to work. I've got two wires at the screen. A red and a black.

What do I need to run from the PJ? Is it one wire or two? how does it connect?

the manual with the screen gives no explanation.

thanks

I haven't done one myself but I believe you need to take the 12V low current trigger signal from the projector and use it to operate some sort of a relay dependent on the amount of current the device you want to operate uses.

Here is a example of such a relay.

Not having a motorized screen I don't know if some or all have their own self contained relay circuit if they do then its just run two wires from the projectors trigger out to the screen.

I'm sure you will get more replies to the post.

Hello

I am having the same trouble as timbreb. I purchased an Elunevision electric and cannot get the screen trigger to work. I have an NEC HT1100 and have gone into the software and turned on the screen trigger.

At first I bought a mono (not stereo) miniplug (ie 2 wires) and it did not work. Then I looked in the NEC manual and apparently it requires a stereo miniplug (ie 3 wires) so I thought problem solved. I bought one, plugged it in but it still does not work.

I am at a standstill. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance
