Russound CAV6 vs SpeakerCraft MZC-88/MODE

Forgive the newbie if this has already been covered and beaten to death.

We're a week away from installing a CAV6 in our new home. I just read the latest review of the SpeakerCraft MODE system and I'm quite intrigued -- more zones, more power, iPod compatibility, bitchin' keypads (really bitchin'!).

We're using the ELK M1 Gold touchscreens and controller for the rest of the automation, and my installer, who spec'ed the CAV6, is concerned about compatibility between the SpeakerCraft and the ELK. Any advice?

TIA,

Check directly with ELK. I don't see anything about supporting the SpeakerCraft when I looked. The key is if you are not using an additional controlling PC solution and have the ELK M1 doing the actual control, here's where you'll likely want to stick with Russound for now.

But check directly with Elk first, they are quite helpful. You may also want to ask on Cocoontech, a great forum that has Elk presence.

Plus XM control and display with an XM tuner that will not cost a grand like some systems (that start with "N" ) I will not mention. See Review at: MODE Review

That is what I plan to install in the next couple of months, of course I will buy the whole Speakercraft system, not using any other components except for sources...

Just a comment on ELk and SpeakerCraft, SpeakerCraft and ELK are in the process of supporting each other, should see a package in approx 90 days.
