Setting up Samsung 32" LN-S3238D resolution...

I have been having some trouble setting up my new HDTV with my Mac Pro.
Specifications: Look them up on Samsung's website. I blame the stupid spam filter for the trouble.(Stupid spam filter.)

I have tried everything, but it will never take the resolution. I have it hooked with a DVI to HDMI cable and set to a custom resolution of 1,366x768.(I edited OS X's graphic plist to get it.) No matter what resolution I put it to, it will always give the same results, either smaller than the screen with overscan off, or much larger with overscan on.

I have tried SwitchResX, but that does not work. Would anyone happen to have a premade profile for a Samsung 32" LN-S3238D?

Any ideas would be helpful! It might just be some other factor.

I had no luck getting that resolution over DVI either on my Samsung. I resorted to using a VGA cable and connecting it via the PC input that my Samsung LCD has. I was surprised on how little the quality differed between VGA & HDMI. I wish I could be of more help. I tried the same troubleshooting steps that you took. I have a PowerMac G4 rather than a Mac Pro, but, I think that doesn't make too much of a difference.

Hooking it up with the VGA cable "just works?" Sounds good to me, I just need to find one nearby.

I finally got a DVI to VGA connector today and it works perfectly. No noticeable difference in quality and the annoying screen resolution switching constantly was fixed.
