Home theatre speaker location - front L and R

Thread Starter
Our new home has a surround sound conduit wireing system built in but we noticed that the speaker locations are positioned on the walls but in the corners of the room. Is this 'really' bad? Everything I've been reading so far point to having the front L&R right next to the tv.... I'm worried.

The room isn't that big so it's not like thet speakers have to fill too much space anyway... Just looking for opinions...

Here are some pictures of basic setups, if the speaker possition you currently have can't match then just run some wire along the baseboard etc so it will.

This may be a stupid question but with the room_d1.gif setup(my setup) The front L&R speakers should they be angled at the listening spot? Or should they be pointing straight back? In the picture they look like they aren't angled but pointing at the ends of the couch.

It's just a diagram of a speaker, nothing more significant than that. I don't think Dolby was commenting on speaker toe-in, one way or the other. As long as you set your's up based on personal preference, it should sound fine.
